India’s leading media and entertainment production company UTV Motion Pictures, which recently produced Kamal Haasan’s latest Tamil blockbuster Unnaipol Oruvan(Eenadu in Telugu) in association with Raj Kamal, has signed a nine-film exclusive deal with Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap for the next three years. As part of the deal, Kashyap will be directing around four to five movies produced by UTV.
“Anurag Kashyap is an extremely talented director, with a unique vision for his projects.Dev D, a UTV Spotboy movie directed by Anurag, was a blockbuster and now, we want to take this association forward with a long term perspective,” UTV’s CCO Vikas Bahl said in a statement on Wednesday.
Anurag Kashyap said: “I am very happy to sign up with UTV because it gives me the freedom to make the kind of films I want to. Not only do I enjoy directing for UTV, I also appreciate their support in delivering a creative vision that the films demand.”
