WHY IS SHE FAMOUS

Before starring as Vanessa Kensington in two of the three Austin Powers installments and as the devil in Bedazzled, Liz Hurley was known as the face of Estée Lauder.

Elizabeth Hurley Quote

"I have three lives: actress, model, producer. Sometimes I'm aware that there's a fourth life, which is somewhat neglected, which is living a bit."

85 SEX APPEAL

Elizabeth Hurley oozes sex appeal with her walk, her talk and the glances she gives the camera. She knows how to turn up the heat and ironically does so by playing the icy-cool seductress so well.

Whether she plays up the sex-kitten angle, like she did as the Princess of Darkness in Bedazzled, or plays it straight, like she did as the brainy, bespectacled Vanessa Kensington, she's always hot.

80 SUCCESS

Elizabeth Hurley wanted to become a dancer when she was a child, but she has accomplished so much more.

Hurley became well-known due to her association with fellow Brit Hugh Grant. The revealing dress she wore when she accompanied him to the premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral created quite a stir. Shortly after that, she and Hugh were hounded by the press when news broke of his arrest in the company of a certain streetwalker.

Hurley founded a film production house, Simian Films, with Hugh. She coproduced Extreme Measures in 1996 and Mickey Blue Eyes in 1999, both of which starred Hugh. Liz suits the role of executive, but we still want to see her in front of the camera.

Her acting career and public profile skyrocketed after her appearance in the first Austin Powers film in 1997. Since then, she has appeared in about 10 more films and was ranked as the fourth greatest British film actress in the Orange Film Survey of 2001.

Elizabeth often makes headlines thanks to her friendships withElton John and Donatella Versace, and her relationship with Indian textile mogul Arun Nayar.

ELIZABETH HURLEYBIOGRAPHY

Born on June 10, 1965, in Hampshire, England, Elizabeth Hurley is the daughter of an army officer and a schoolteacher mother. While growing up in Basingstoke, England, Hurley dreamed of becoming a dancer, which prompted her to attend a boarding school that specialized in ballet at the age of 12
Her attendance at the boarding school was short-lived, and Hurley then went through an English punk phase. Although it's hard to imagine the now glamorous Hurley with pink hair and a nose ring, she was in fact a victim of early-'80s punk fashion.
